Sunset at Saint Lawrance River

My first, quick, impression from this image's thumbnail was that it was a photograph. Color is spot-on: a very convincing imitation of natural colors.

Composition is good to very good: very slightly drawing the eye toward the brightest part of the horizon.

I was particularly impressed at the sense of depth, achieved with no atmospheric perspective or 'railroad tracks' perspective markers. Zones of color, smaller and more compressed as they near the horizon, are an effective way to show the river's (flatness?) with ice cover.

Generally I add some nitpicking at this point. That won't happen today: partly because I'm lazy and tired; partly because I didn't find any obvious irregularities in this image.

I will admit a bias: I like this sort of scene. Thank you for sharing.
